What Drives the Indian Women Bosses as of Today ?

Even up until 10 years ago, a discussion on Indian Women bosses could have been called irrelevant. However, an Indian company being taken over by women is nothing uncommon in today’s world of business. This surreal surge of women power is creating much hype, as more and women executives make their way up the corporate ladder. What are the motives behind this powerful energy that is driving women to achieve such phenomenal levels of success? What is their secret to these giant strides of success? One of the most important reasons cited by women who hold powerful positions is that they do not attach any importance to the concept of gender. They firmly believe that gender is just a construct, a merely incidental concept.

However, such statements do not in any way mean that men are chauvinistic. It is just that women consider the question of gender as nonchalant, something that really does not matter. Another plus point for women is their ability to multitask. Balancing their personal and professional lives has never been simple. From household chores to looking after all the needs of the family, women have been multitasking for ages, which is probably why this skill is so highly developed in their constitution. A woman is nurturing on one hand, and can be equally fierce on the other. This talent complements the way they handle their responsibilities. They are often observed making the best of deals with tact and diplomacy. Furthermore, apart from carrying out multiple operations simultaneously, women are also shedding all sorts of fears and inhibitions, and communicating effectively.

More and more women are choosing to move forward on account of their merit alone. Such effort are increasingly being met with due acknowledgement and rewards. A clean slate is a powerful asset to be equipped with, as people are being subjected to increasing degrees of scrutiny. Achievements are duly rewarded and appreciated by one and all. The initial climb is tough, and once one reaches the top rungs of the ladder, a good reputation is essential in order to secure a firm establishment. If one is capable of achieving that, being a man or woman makes no difference, and this is exactly what women are choosing to capitalize on. They are no longer trying to be like men, but recognising and improving their own skill sets to create a unique niche for themselves in the world of business.

Recent studies have shown that the general attitude towards women employees and managers is undergoing a change. People are getting more used to the idea of having a woman as the boss in the workplace. Although the change is still in its initial stages, one cannot say that the progress has been negligible. The number of working women, particularly in private sector companies, is rising steadily. There is a lot of work to be done still, but women are certainly quite capable of being as efficient as men in the workplace, through their determination, creativity and sincerity. Indian women are all set to take the world of business by storm.
