Snow! Snow! & Snow! Winter is in, its in full form now, started with baby steps but standing with strong feet not yet ready to let us experience the warmth of sunrays …we should know how it is responsible for letting us awake…giving sleepless night.
Excessive heat inside the room
Little cosiness is good to go, but too much of anything is not good. Mild warmth makes you to go for long hours eve talk but it takes away your nap. Research says. Human body can sleep nicely, if we decrease our body temperature a bit in comparison to our bed room temperature. Pilling mild layers on sleeping bed would be better option coz its detachable when become too warm.
Excessive cold inside the room
That’s exactly vice a versa to the above one. Like too much of warmth wake you up in midnight & too much of cold will not let you complete the previous night dream. It rather gives you a shivering night & an UN fresh morning. Common! Are you still thinking of saving your electricity bill…?
Less light day time
Bright sunbeams acts like a starter, reason to gear up, motivate us to leave the bed & get ready to work. But gloomy day makes us depressive; not letting us to leave our bed, even if we woke up, then keeps attracting & making us to get cosy with blankets or roaming around the heater. It reduces the day & night differences so our body don’t feel like going to bed, so try to keep you away from bed in day time. Also we suggest you to don’t keep the artificial lights like TV, I Pad or Laptop on, when you going to bed.
Heavy diet in winters
We tend to have butter, cream, cheese, dry fruits & other heavy stuffs in winters which may gives warmth from inside, however they are also responsible for our sleepless nights. Heavy meals required much energy for digestion. So a calorie, that keeps our body warm, is start getting utilizing for digestion. Better if we have dinner at least 3 hours before hitting the bed.
Cough n cold
A sound sleep keeps all the pains away. But the weird thing is stuffed nose & cough in throat not letting us breathe. Then it’s mandate to take breathe through mouth which makes it dry & often lead to snoring that takes, our dear ones sleep away. Better if you take steam to clear the nasal passage & gargle with lukewarm water, add pinch of salt in it (it’s very old germ killing way) also can take a bit ginger juice mixing it with honey before sleeping.
Lack of physical activity
Hard work brings tight sleep. But in winters we are least interested in exercise, taking bath, morning walk & other physical activities. Due to this we don’t feel like tired & sleepy in bet time. So if not interested in outdoor activity at least increase indoor physical work by using staircase instead of elevator & small walk in room, playing with kids etc.
